About Us

Jessica L. Packman

As a certified CBT specialist and a Level 1 trained Internal Family Systems therapist, I work to support my clients to live their best lives.  I have unique experience of humans across the lifespan; I was a teacher in my prior career which helped me understand adolescents and their everyday environment. I’ve had 2 years of consultation with Sand Chang, PhD educating myself on the LGBTQIA+ community and their unique experience. Furthermore, I worked for many years with people with special needs in education and the community, and worked at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta allowing me to better understand the experience of those with chronic pain and illness. Whether it was working in schools, hospitals, community mental health or private practice, these experiences with humans across the lifespan gives me a unique understanding of my clients’ experiences.

RK McGinnis

After working in community mental health, adoption/foster care, and now private practice, I honor my client’s unique experiences and work to create safe spaces where there haven’t been.  I especially enjoy working with the LGBTQIA+ population neurodiverse folks. Most of my current clients are 6th graders through young adults. But, I work with adults of any age, and I have significant experience with young children — 4 years old and up — providing play therapy. I am client-centered and prioritize whatever my clients bring into the therapy room for that day, supporting clients to change from wherever they want to begin.  Beyond talk therapy, I also use nonverbal techniques (sandtray and play therapy), suiting the approach to the specific client’s needs.  If you are interested, let’s schedule a consultation call to see if we might be a good fit.

Creating a safe space for clients to self explore and work towards positive change is something I enjoy and take seriously in my work. My clinical experience has been predominantly working with kids 6+, teens and young adults, however I welcome adults of all ages, too! I have worked with clients on a variety of diagnoses and stressors including anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, behavior issues, ADHD, grief and emotional dysregulation. In sessions, I have found it helpful to use a Client Centered approach to fully understand a client’s perspective of their experience. From there, using modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy can be helpful in developing necessary skills or exploring beliefs that have kept a client “stuck.” I don’t believe we choose to be stuck, so please reach out if you’d like to take the first step in facilitating change.
